Knitting and Crochet Enjoyment
If you’re into knitting and crochet, you’ll find lots of patterns and projects to try. I’ve been doing both since I was quite young and still enjoy this form of craft. If you’ve never tried knitting or crocheting, having a friend or family member try it can be quite helpful! That’s how I learned years ago. If not, they have step-by-step books available at your local craft stores or libraries. Some craft stores also offer classes that can be a good alternative if you don’t have anyone to help you learn and find books that are more difficult to follow. Once you learn the basic stitches and understand the meanings of the instructions, you’ll be on your way. Although I have been crocheting for years, I have a book on various stitches and how they are made.
One of the projects that I enjoy doing is a miniature snowman and Santa Claus, which you can attach ornamental hangers or string and hang on the Christmas tree. Those who come on holidays ask where I bought it and they are very surprised to learn that I made it. These 2 pieces are crocheted and also perfect gifts.
There are also many books available at craft stores that have patterns for every holiday throughout the year. Many items I make have magnets attached to the back and can be placed in the fridge.
As kids, we rarely wore store-bought slippers. Our mother always knit slippers for us and we wear them today. Since you use 2 yarns at the same time to make these, they are very warm. Using 2 layers of yarn gives you endless possibilities for the color of slippers. These slippers have 3 sizes: baby, child and adult. They are sturdy slippers and easy to care for.
