Hand Knitted Slippers

Knitting slippers is one of the many crafts that I enjoy. The mold I use has been passed down through the family over the years. We have been wearing these long-lasting, washable slippers since our childhood. Occasionally a store-bought pair of slippers returns home, but we’ve always preferred this cozy, warm homemade slipper.

The best part, of course, is that you can knit a new pair at any time, even if the reason for a new pair is just a different color.

These special slippers are made of 2 yarns which adds to the warmth of the slippers. Using 2 threads at the same time also gives you the opportunity to create a wide variety of color combinations. Sometimes I use one color, but combining colors is much more interesting. Sometimes he creates a beautiful combination by mixing the same color but using different tones of that color. Other times, using another color after white creates a great result, whether it’s a pastel or a darker shade. The color combinations are endless!

Another great feature of knit slippers is that they are very easy to care for. When they need to be cleaned, all you have to do is toss them in the washer and dry in the machine. They will look like new! The slippers will soften a little and machine washing and drying will restore them to their original state. How easy is that! Unlike most store-bought slippers that are not completely washable, you’ll never have to worry about having clean slippers again! Homemade slippers are warm, comfortable, easy to clean and certainly come in a wide variety of color variations.
