Good evening everyone, welcome to the colorful and beautiful world of crochet. Today we will try to make it more fun and enjoyable. An easy bow ornament is a very easy project to crochet. Recommended crochet hook size is 3.0 mm. I’m sure you’ve already created something like this, but if you haven’t yet, it’s usually a good chance because these large bows are a very creative, appealing and attractive accessory. Please enjoy your crafting and always feel free to share your experience with us. So let’s get back to business and start crocheting today for great pleasure.

We all know the saying Practice Makes Perfect. You’ll find this is very true for crochet, but it doesn’t take much practice to get your stitches perfect. Enjoy your crochet and follow these easy tips for pure crochet success.

Tip 1: When you’re first learning to crochet, the whole process will feel very awkward as you’ll have to hold the hook, the yarn, and work at the same time as you try to create various crochet stitches. But work on it, work on the stitching until it feels natural, it won’t take long. A great idea for practicing basic stitches is to start creating a bunch of individual Granny squares (or one large square) to get used to moving the hook naturally and easily. You can also sew them together at the end and have a cozy blanket.

Tip 2: When crocheting, the yarn is routed through your fingers, which is actually what creates tension in your work and therefore determines how tight your crochet stitch is!

If you look at a crochet hook, you’ll see that it tapers inward as it gets closer to the actual hook, so it has different thicknesses. It thickens as it moves away from the hook itself. So if you let your loops go up the shaft of the hook, your loops will be larger and hence the work will be looser. If you work near the hook, your loops will be smaller; and the smaller the loops, the tighter the stitches. So, if you find yourself working along the hook shaft rather than next to the hook, lower the loops towards the hook and pull the thread once more to tighten the loops, reducing their size.

Sometimes you need to tighten your stitches even more. To do this, pull your crochet thread again at the end of the newly created stitch.

Crochet tension is important in most crochet projects, especially for clothing. The tension determines the size of the finished garment. The tighter you crochet, the finer the yarn and the smaller the hook, the smaller the final project and vice versa. Therefore, always check your crochet tension against the pattern to ensure the finished item will fit correctly. Alternatively, start crocheting with something where the tension isn’t so important, like a straw, shawl, or Granny Square.

Tip 3: When creating project elements where tension is vital, always take the time to prepare a practice example. This extra time at the start of a project will save you time and heartache later on. (Practice swatch instructions are always included in the patterns they can be applied to.) Practice swatches are crochet pieces using the hook and yarn from which the garment will be made. Patterns tell you how many stitches and rows should equal a certain length and width.

Note that you don’t have to use the same yarn or the same size of crochet hook as described in the crochet patterns. Adjusting the dimensions of your crochet hook when the tension is too tight or too loose for the individual crochet pattern will change the finished project size. If you are using a different thickness of yarn or a different size hook, be sure to check the tension by knitting a practice sample to double-check the dimensions. This is just really important when making any crochet garment.

Tip 4: Relax and enjoy crocheting, it will really show itself in your work. Do not hold your hook or yarn too tight or too loose. Look again at your stitches and make sure they’re all the same size. Try to let your crochet hook move freely and automatically tighten the yarn after you finish each crochet stitch.

Tip 5: Always keep your work. Your thumb and forefinger should hold the place you’re crocheting just below where you’re stitching.

Tip 6: When joining new balls of yarn, always do this in a chain stitch and be sure to crochet in a straight line at the end of a row, as this will make it easier to weave in the yarn ends. This will also give a more professional result.

Tip 7: It’s not easy to crochet a fun fur coat because of its many lashes. This is not easy for beginners, as these lashes make it very difficult to actually see your crochet stitches. If you can’t see your stitches, correctly positioning your hook behind and in front of the stitches is extremely difficult and can be extremely frustrating. Therefore, it is very easy to go wrong.

By adding a second ball of a different type (any type without eyelashes) to the playful fur and crocheting one strand of each yarn at the same time, you will make your loops much more visible and the work much easier. . This will make your yarn and therefore work much thicker, so if you are making a garment make sure it will still fit and adjust the hook sizes accordingly.

First of all, have fun…

Remember, crochet is a fun activity even for beginners. So grab a hook and get started today.
