If you are knitting Afghan, your chains may be long, if you are making a hat, your chain will be short and will be closer to your head circumference for your hoop, depending on the style of the hat you are making and the stretch of the thread. .
2. It’s very important to make sure you’re sewing properly to ensure your project is the right size when you’re finished.
3. An inexpensive way to try your first sample to see if you want to crochet is to use an H size aluminum crochet needle and a skein of 100% acrylic yarn. Adjust the size of the hook up or down to reach the size required by your chosen pattern.
4. Whether you are left-handed or right-handed, hold the hook with your right hand on the flat area of the hook. Wrap your other fingers around the lower areas of the hook. Adjust the thread to be comfortable and let it flow easily without restriction or pulling as this will stretch the thread and affect its size when you are done.
5. When counting your stitches, you do not count the stitches on the hook.
